Sam Fender has given the entirety of his £25k honor cash to the trust for venues, which works to protect the UK's independent live music spots.
He was awarded the award on October 16 as his latest record his work was named the best record of the previous year.
The musician has opted to donate the funds to the Music Venues Trust, in appreciation of the essential function grassroots venues fulfilled in his early career.
"I couldn't be pursuing my current career if it wasn't for all the shows I performed around the area, and further afield, when I was starting out," said Fender. "These locations are iconic, but they are facing challenges."
Since the start of 2023, more than 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – approximately 16% of the entire UK sector.
In the last year, major artists such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the trust in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a small levy to their admission fees, which supports local stages.
Fender also participated, generating more than £100,000 on his recent tour to assist 38 small stages across England, Scotland, and Wales.
The donation helped locations that were dealing with possible closure due to challenges arising from flooding, fires and family tragedies, as well as licensing issues, conflicts and sound issues.
Other venues received funding support in modernizing facilities and gear that positively impacted artists and fans.
"The concept that revenue from performances in major spaces supports the local stages, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just sensible," Fender has said.
The musician is far from the only musician to give his honor winnings to charitable organizations.
In Pulp won the award in 1996 for their record the album, frontman Jarvis Cocker stated that the band would donate their winnings to the charity War Child.
In 2002, musician the artist divided her bounty among multiple charities, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.
"And I donated a thousand pounds to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was a child and they required updated gear," Ms Dynamite explained to outlets.
Two years ago, the band donated their winnings to the community center that nurtured their act, as well as other local music groups.
Also 1994 winners the group gave their prize to a MS organization after a acquaintance was diagnosed the disease.
"The victory was sufficient," stated artist the singer. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't require the extra, because we had the honor. So our success affected somebody else's life."
Last week, the trust revealed it had protected a couple of local spots in that region, by transferring them to local control.
The Joiners in that area and The Croft in Bristol were bought under the public acquisition initiative, which is funded by Arts Council England and supporters who acquire "ownership units" in the properties.
